This paper seeks to broaden and deepen the growing dialogue and action to promote regional equity. Through analysis and practical examples, the paper explores a number of key equity issues that challenge our nation today—from education to transportation to environmental justice—and situates these issues in a regional context. Further, the paper identifies opportunities for action and highlights examples of community actors evolving their strategies and tactics to the “regional reality,” and successfully connecting their neighborhoods and communities to resources and opportunities throughout regions.
